Energy Efficiency
The building envelope can be up to 70% more energy-efficient than conventionally framed buildings. The product meets the Environmental Protection Agency Home Energy Star Rating.
Hurricane Ready
The building envelope is engineered to withstand over 180 mph hurricane-force winds. This is a great bonus feature, with hurricane activity predicted to increase over the next 15 years.
Mold Resistance
The walls offer a far more mold-resistant building envelope, with a dramatically lower permeability rating, than conventionally framed structures. With six inches of 5000psi concrete in conjunction with Styrofoam Brand Insulation, the risk of mold growth is substantially reduced.
Termite/Rot Resistance
The walls provide a building envelope that can almost eliminate the risk of rot and termites. Because concrete isn’t organic, the risk of infestation is minimal.
Sound Mitigation
The mass of the concrete walls and floors creates a sound barrier from both interior and exterior noise and receives a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of 50 to 60, an excellent rating, signifying that loud sounds are heard faintly or not at all.
Fire Resistance
The wall system has a 3 to 4-hour fire rating compared to a 2-hour fire rating for conventional wood-frame construction.
Insurance Reduction
Because of concrete’s natural resistance to fire, its lower susceptibility to mold and rot, and its durability when it comes to hurricanes and other natural disasters, many insurance providers offer lower premiums for concrete structures than for comparable wood-framed structures—in some cases, 15 to 25 percent lower.
Speed of Construction
Using our precast concrete wall system can reduce your overall construction time by nearly 50% and actually simplify the construction process.
