Lucile L Cogswell
Lucile Cogswell started her professional life in the art world, working at Sotheby’s in New York. She soon found she was more excited by the numbers side of her chosen profession and was ultimately promoted to Business Manager of the Asia Division. She met her husband William in 2001 and paused her career
to start a family. She and William have two wonderful children, Mason and Meade.
Lucile joined WECCO Development in 2008, just in time to help safely navigate it through a very tumultuous time in the real estate world. She rolled up her sleeves and quickly because adept at
managing all aspects of the redevelopment process. While William excels at vision, Lucile excels at keeping the machine well-oiled and running, tracking budgets, contracts, personnel, and everything in between. Having now 15 years of hands-on experience, she is excited to take the reins and continue to lead WECCO Development as it embarks on this exciting Joint Venture with Weaver Capital and Jamestown on the historic Navy Yard.
Lucile has served on numerous boards in Charleston including the Gibbes Museum and Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, boating, riding horses, and walking her dogs. Lucile completed a double major in English and Art History at Tulane University and further studied at Sotheby’s Institute in London, England.

William S Cogswell, jr
Mr. Cogswell has been in the real estate business since 1997. His extensive background includes work in development, construction, brokerage, and asset management. His detailed and forward thinking approach to design and investment is well known and has resulted in many award winning projects including the Cigar Factory, GARCo Mill, One Cool Blow, Frogtown and Starland. Mr. Cogswell is a native of Charleston and a graduate of the University of the South. He also holds a Masters degree from Columbia University where he received high honors for his thesis on sustainable building envelopes using concrete construction. He is actively involved with the Urban Land Institute and the Downtown Task Force, and he has served on multiple boards such as the Coastal Conservation League, Historic Charleston Foundation, GrowFood Carolina, and the Library Society.
